Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

I am so excited to begin my 6th year at Stevenson with our amazing staff, STARS and families. 

Our goal is for every Stevenson scholar to aspire to have a positive mindset towards school and self, as well as awesome citizenship. The staff will focus on positive approaches to teaching students how to be STARS – an acronym which stands for: Successful  Thoughtful  Achieving  Respectful  Scholars.

Every 4-6 weeks we will focus on one of these guiding principles and ask that they be supported at home. At our monthly assemblies, we recognize students for truly exhibiting what it means to be STAR Scholars. Students will also have the opportunity to be recognized throughout their day with our Shining STARS Slips! At the end of each month, students will be given an opportunity to redeem their collected STARS slips for a prize at our STARS Store!

We will continue to focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) by incorporating Zones of Regulation in conjunction with Harmony, lessons that will empower our students and staff to understand emotions. Families will also be invited to participate in workshops. 

We ask that you please partner with Stevenson and support your children by getting them to class every day, on-time and prepared to do his or her best. Success is a team effort and each player including students, parents/guardians, teachers, staff and administrators is an important part of the team. 

Finally, we look forward to celebrating those STARS at the end of each semester by recognizing scholars who achieved most improved (academic, socially, attendance etc), academic achievements (all 4s + Es or all 3s or 4s and E’s or S’s; ST Math) and excelled at being successful, thoughtful, achieving, respectful scholars (citizenship).
